5 tips to help you enjoy the game more

Sep 05, 2017

  1. Take a lesson

If you’re feeling frustrated with your game it may be time to go back to school! You may be an experienced golfer, but from time to time we all need a little reassurance and help from a professional to get us out of our funk!

Picking up bad swing habits is also a common problem – a good instructor will build on the foundation of your swing and tweak it to gain consistency.

  1. Practice

Practice makes perfect, but make sure to practice with purpose! Don’t just blast through a bucket full of balls and hope for the best – try some drills to help you improve. (Check out our Facebook page for some drills, or book in a lesson with one of our coaches!)

  1. Play the shot not the score

If you become too fixated on the score, you’ll probably start to force shots that lead to more costly errors and frustration.  Remember to take into account other variables such as the weather when looking at your score!

  1. Be realistic with your goals

If you are setting yourself unachievable targets then you are bound to wind up frustrated and disappointed! Instead, make realistic goals that will leave you feeling satisfied and confident once achieved.

  1. Have fun

You’re not a professional and you don’t get paid to do this – you actually choose to spend your time playing!  Even if you like to take your hobby seriously, it’s important to remember that you are there to have fun!
